Peek-a-boo Baby March 25, 2011

About a week ago Fiona learned to play Peek-a-boo. She used to use a blanket to cover her face to do it, but now I’ve taught her to use her hands and it’s oh so cute. She’s so lively and engaging. She’s smart and adventurous and always out to discover something new. I’m going to miss this stage even as I look forward to the next one. Though I’m not sure what’s going to happen with that. Walking.

My girl isn’t standing yet. Most babies are pulling up by 10 months. She’s got a formal evaluation with EDIS on Wednesday. They noted in her screening that she’s got low muscle tone in her legs (which I have also previously noted with zero professional training). So that’s a concern but also I’ve noticed her rounded feet (high arches), her weak ankles and her feet that are turned out. I think all  of these things could be contributors to her issue.

She’s a really good baby. Which is God sent because the first 6 months…were…rough. I wasn’t sure if I was going to make it. But we did make it. And I’ve fallen head over heels for the little girl that I can no longer imagine my days without. I do worry about her development and her future, but for now, right this second? She’s the best little peek-a-boo player EVER!
